Victory Garden 2022

Victory Garden was was originally released in 1991 on diskette and is a work of 'hypertext literature'. Hypertext describes a set of documents that are not simply sequential in the way that a book is, but rather have links between them. The most common form of hypertext, of course, are websites, and the language used to create them is HTML, Hypertext Markup Language. But that just as an aside, as the original work was not written in html.

Victory Garden 2022 is a recreation of the original work by the original author - this time using html - which as one might expect came out in 2022. It has some additional features to help in exploration and improve the experience.

Victory Garden (2022) is a labyrinthine work consisting of a great number of individual small text snippets and occasionally pictures, with some words in the text being links to other fragments. There are about 1000 in total, I hear. Moving from fragment to fragment along streams or links will be confusing at first. But soon enough you start to recognize repeating terms, ideas and names. And with navigation aids to help you follow particular paths or streams without getting losts, you will eventually figure out just what the hell is going on. Maybe. Hopefully. If you want.

So, want to get lost in the Garden?
