The real message in every single political attack ad is this:

I, the candidate, fucking hate you. I despise that I have to interact with you, and I resent that my job is dependent on your consent. I got nothing for you, and if I could offer less I would, but I want to keep sucking on the teat of public office for a bit longer, so, uh, the other guy is real scary A-BOOGA-BOOGA-BOO! See? So vote for me.

Remember this, and you won't be steered wrong.
