Not sure if this is an ungracious thought

Just seen an author saying "this is why indie authors aren't producing audio", and it was a $2 return from Hoopla, apparently on a $4000 audiobook production investment.

Now, I didn't say anything when I saw it because I don't know if my first thought was mean, but my first thought was: Audacity is free. You prolly got a headset already. Sure it won't be Studio Quality but I thought we were indie here.

AND if ya do it yourself, you know how it's all sposed to sound. AND if you're putting barely any money in you have the freedom to experiment and fuck with things without risking a huge financial loss.

Cheap and cheerful, DIY punx shit. Sure it might sound a lil scuffed, but hey - we're indie, only a fool would expect a big budget production.
