Let Mormons listen to Paramore

Remembering a time a while ago when I was staying with my partner in the town where they lived. Said town had a Mormon lodge for some reason and sometimes there'd be missionaries about. One time they knocked my partner's door while I was over there. We answered the door. It's good to do that. For one, I collect religious crap from street preachers (best find was a whole Bhagavad Gita off one monk, another time I got a gloriously insane conspiracy pamphlet), but also missionary work is dispiriting by design. Part of the point of it is so the missionaries get told to fuck off a lot, so when they return to their people they can be reassured of the line between their group (nice and friendly) and the world (tells you to fuck off). So always be nice to these people, if you're rude you're helping the cult.

So anyway yeah, we invite em in for a cuppa and a chat about Jesus, and one of them clocked that we were listening to rock music and asked if she could put a Paramore song on. Sure, why not?

It obviously went nowhere, like, we were queer stoners blasting goth bangers. We still are (to the best of my knowledge, haven't spoken to them much since we broke up), but we were then too. Next time my ex saw those kids, they found out that Paramore Girl isn't allowed to do missionary work anymore.

What the hell, Mormons? Let your followers enjoy Paramore now and then dawg. It's really inoffensive stuff. Because if you don't, they're going to get it from me, and I'm gonna show them The Distillers and Hole too, and if you think Paramore is too much, you really don't** want that.
