I wanted a career before COVID.

By which I mean, I was trying to get promoted. Nothing too major, but climbing the ladder a bit.

Now? Well, we work remotely and that is unlikely to change. 2020 made my overlords realise they didn't have to pay nearly so much rent. But I no longer want to rise above my station, how comes?

See, the positions above me all require me to go to a location, and the extra money I'd get would all be swallowed (and then some) by the costs of commuting, so fuck that.

They've been really trying to get these posts filled, I wonder if they'll ever figure they should offer more money or WFH.
