Ghost in the Shell (2026)

Haven't watched the new GITS yet, but as a big 80s/90s sci fi anime fan, I feel a bit pandered to by the designs. I was excited initially, but then I remembered the way so much terrible, bland storytelling has come wrapped in the skin of Good Shit You Remember lately.

I guess I'm kind of waiting for confirmation that it isn't nostalgia bait trash (a la Stranger Things) before I spend the time, but equally I don't know where such confirmation would come from. Has anyone scene it? Is it good?
