Everything I've created and put online (note: I've created a lot of things that aren't online) is likely now in the belly of an LLM. Digested and spewed out as part of a partially hallucinated response to a weak prompt from a lazy ex-googler.
We create to expand. The diaspora of ideas, reaching out to unknown parts of the Internet Superhighway (c) - but we always imagined it was going to be human ears and eyes. A boring dystopia. It's just bits and bytes after all, with connections between them. How dreary.
This isn't an argument against putting your art online, even with this knowledge. I perhaps naively hope that 'hand made' art, writing and music will only appreciate in value as the AI slop cannon blasts our collective face. We're just unwittingly, without our consent, part of the problem, whether we like it or not.
