[ESC]Solarpunk as One of Many Answers
I have enjoyed Solarpunk for quite some time now. The idea of tech meshing with ecology, the idea that we don't have to be luddites to take care of the world and we don't have to be cruel to animals and nature to develop technology, these things have always felt important to me, in part because I love tech and I love nature. I hate the idea that these two things must be at odds.
Solarpunk offers a lot of really interesting fictional and near-fictional/science-fictional ideas for how we can build technology alongside, or coexisting with, nature. I don't think it serves as an "answer" to all that ails us, but I do think it can be in the toolbox of different answers. I think you can have your own political ideologies that may not 100% mesh with or fit within the solarpunk model (generally, anarchistic, left-libertarian, communal) but still pull from solarpunkism on how you eat, raising a homestead, how you interface with nature, etc.
