[ESC]fidonet.terminal - Lost in Translation?
I just had a thought... while scrolling through the current Arealist available in Fidonet, I stumbled accross a lot of russian areas and thought... interesting! Because, I guess Russia is kinda "controlled" in regards to what information is getting in and coming out by the government right now just like it is in China.
So maybe still using the fidonet may or may not be something people use to communicate "under the hood"? Don't know.
However.. I don't understand their language.
This is when I implemented an auto-translation feature to my fidonet.terminal application. Now when I open messages with forein languages (like russian), the application automatically translates them to my own language (right now).
Interesting thing: The very first russian message I opened was about a discussion about another fido tool that someone suggested to use and another person thinks it was a bad suggestions because of security concerns especially for russian users.
Well well... I need to have a look at the area list for chinese areas now...
