[ESC]Motherfucker, this is a chonky one
I knew what I was getting into but Jumping Jesus H. Huckleberry Christ that motherfucker is HEAVY
I present to you, my newest wallet drain acquisition: the Bambu Lab H2D
I know, Bambi Lab software bad, I'll be the first to throw them shit for the shenanigans they're pulling around the AGPL licence they're trying to straight up ignore...
BUT, Bambu Lab hardware? hooo boy, I tried, I assure you, but NOBODY even comes close:
- Prusa is fucking expensive & has no mature multifilament system yet
- Creality is cheap but they also cheapen out on their printers' construction, to the detriment of overall quality & lifetime use
- Sovol is open source but I couldn't bother with that (and their lineup is kind of a joke tbh)
There's more but I don't wanna extend on this, I bought that printer, it's there, imma use IT.
First, taking the MAC address, whitelisting it on the WiFi AP, blacklisting it on the firewall, this thing is NOT reaching the internet.
I already installed and performed the preliminary setup of Orca slicer, I'll unpack the printer tomorrow once I've cleaned up its place and I'll set it to LAN only mode to try and run a print OTA.
I haven't got the spools and addons I've ordered with it yet (printers & everything else are shipped separately), though it already has the AMS module bolted on top and I have a bit of PLA remaining from my old printer so I guess it'll do just fine to try out the AMS to dry it out and run a test print with it, see how it does!
Quite happy about this, is expensive but I feel it'll be worth it long term :)
