Just read A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace

For the past 18 years I have kept a large notebook to which I add notes and transcripts of things important to me. From notes on how to get WoW to run in WINE on Ubuntu 8.04 to hand-transcribing The Hacker's Manifesto. This is my techno grimoire, "The Book of Proxy".

Today I added a full, hand-transcribed copy of A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace by John Parry Barlow, written in 1996 and still SO relevant over 30 years later. One of my favorite excerpts comes at the very end, where he states:

We will create a civilization of the Mind in Cyberspace. May it be more humane and fair than the world your governments have made before.
