Ouroboros

A Serpent eating its own tail represents a concept that transcends cultures and time periods. This is a powerful emblem of the concept Cyclicality. Bringer of Life and death and rebirth.

The Ouroboros has origins earliest depicted in ancient Egypt, it was associated with the sun god Ra. The serpent biting its own tail represented the sun's journey through the sky, from dawn to dusk, and its eternal renewal each day.

In ancient Greece, it was embraced as a philosophical and alchemical symbol. The Greek term "oura" means "tail," and "boros" means "eating" or "devouring."
Ouroboros signified the concept of cyclical renewal and the hidden relationship between dualistic opposites.
Like sex & death, creation & destruction and love & hate.

Life, death, and rebirth are in an unending loop, like nature of the universe (a loop) This can be seen in the changing of seasons, the cycles of day and night, and Cycles of behaviour.

The Ouroboros embodies the paradoxical idea of unity within duality. It illustrates that opposites are interconnected and reliant on one another. Like Yin and Yang.
Life and death are not separate but part of the same continuum, and harmony can be found in their coexistence.

In alchemical traditions, it symbolised the philosopher's stone, a substance believed to have the power to transmute base metals into gold and grant immortality.
Alchemists saw their own pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and transformation reflected in the symbol's eternal renewal.

Jung recognised it as an archetype of the collective unconscious. He saw it representing the process of individuation, where an individual strives to become their true and complete self by embracing and integrating all aspects of their personality, including the shadow. (I have much to speak on this process stay posted)

You'll see our snake continue to appear in contemporary art representing eternal love, the cycle of life, or the infinite nature of knowledge and wisdom. The Cosmic joke of finishing your quest and ending up back at the point you started.
Only now everything has changed.
