Thought I'd throw in some messages about my solarpunk club. I've been inspired for some time by solarpunk ideals and I've been wondering how one might start to explore solarpunk as a reality. I started a local club to that end. We're pretty nascent, but the general idea we're operating off of is connecting with local community and mutual aid groups to see if we can develop tech for them that might help or alleviate some of their challenges. It's been a bumpy ride so far, but we're making progress.

Our first project was to build a remote monitoring system for the local community fridge group so volunteers wouldn't have to go to check on them every day. The current project is developing small scale rooftop solar for the local makerspace to charge phones, run soldering irons, art installations, etc.

What do you all think would be interesting things to do with a group like this?
