anyone know latin?

i have had a tattoo idea for a while that i’m too nervous to get without triple-checking.

guillermo del toro has his wonderful quote:

what i’d really like is to incorporate something like

potential through failure

as part of a design. unfortunately, no knowledge of latin. any chooms familiar with the language and might be able to help out with a proper translation?
