ENTRY
[ESC]Just a little over two months ago, I packed a travel bag, boarded a small passenger plane, and flew with a small crew of techs and security personnel to a new worksite.
When I arrived, they asked for my telephone and anything that could be used to send a message out. They were serious enough about this to search me after I had told them I'd surrendered everything.
And thus began one of the most intense, but rewarding projects I've ever worked on. Everything I've done up until now pales in comparison. I am so happy.
I'm back in Seoul now, and the client is super happy, the project was fucking realistic and well within range of my team, and all of the relevant negotiation had largely taken place before I even arrived, leaving me only having to manage the technology.
So here I am no, not yet quite unpacked, back in my dorm (which still somehow scents of new construction materials) drinking licorice tea out of my cat-shaped teapot.
I'm happy. This was a fantastic move, and I'm grateful.
Over the next few days I get to re-connect with everyone that I care about and let them know that yes, I'm OK, and I'll be back for about a month before it's time to travel again. I don't have all the deets yet on the next project, but they're a little less strict about communications out, so I'll be able to speak to my loved ones (and all of you) while I'm working on that one.
Happy, happy, happy.
