[ESC]analogust
So. Recently Ive realised that even with my lowered use of tech I still use it way more than I wish to.
So I proposed a challenge to myself.
During the month of August I am only permitted to use analog devices (excluding my job of course)
Wanna listen to music - mp3 player or radio
Wanna watch something? - better have blueray of it.
Due to me starting it on such short notice I bearly have anything to help me too.
Which is actually good believe it or not.
The point is not to buy a bunch of stuff but to disconnect and test your ability to do so effectively.
You can take this wherever you want but the rules ive outlined to myself are as follows.
- No non analog devices (computer, modern phone etc)
- While at work I am allowed to use my phone for work only.
- I am allowed to use my phone to call people but no texting unless I get sent a message first (I dont want to start calling people who text me)
- As of right now I am not allowed to use my pc to download music but I might give myself a grace period to download new music during weekends if I dont have enough.
So while it isnt a complete disconnect I dont think it would be possible in the current landscape.
Hopefully I succeed.
If I do ill be sure to write about my experience.
I welcome everyone who wants to join me in this.
Mango.
