New stations, retuned dial
The roster grew and got a shuffle. CIPHER joined the lineup (glitchy/cyberpunk), RELIC SIGNAL retired to make room, and station names got a final pass. Every station now carries 30 verified tracks (up from 25), for 270 across the 9 public presets. And yes — there's a secret 10th station hiding on the dial if you know where to look.
CIPHER also just took over preset 1 at 133.7, bumping DISTORTION FIELD down to preset 2. Small thing, but if you had the old preset numbers memorized, that's why.
It reacts to what's playing now
Locking onto a station used to just switch the readout. Now the whole screen participates: the status line animates in, station and track info resolve out of static instead of snapping into place, and the CRT itself flickers, blooms, and rolls in response to what's happening. There's also a live signal-to-noise readout that actually reflects how close you are to a clean lock, and an ambient tube hum sitting under everything for warmth.
V
isualizers
Each station now has its own generative visualizer that runs in the antenna pane — flame, neon outrun horizon, EKG-style pulse, procedural clouds, a boombox with a sidewalk under it, and more, each tuned to match its station's vibe. This was the biggest visible addition this cycle and got several rounds of hand-tuning to feel right rather than just technically working.
Look and feel
Four display-mode phosphor tints (amber, cyber blue, monochrome, bubblegum pink, plus the default green) to match your terminal mood. A richer cold-boot sequence, longer idle behavior, and a full guide overlay ([G]) with controls and a paged station reference. General polish pass on borders, meters, and readouts throughout.
Under the hood, for your ears
Every station's identifying tone was redesigned for a more distinct melodic signature, and track loudness is normalized across the board so you're not reaching for the volume knob between stations.
Small tweaks here and there, station tone IDs are closer to their 'vibe' and you can test the secret channel: It's present 0. Yes, it has it's own visual mode too.
