how tf am i supposed to learn japanese

I admit, i've been studying sparingly but even so it is so damn hard, i cant understand a single non-trivial sentence.

The words all seem the same and just listening to it i cant parse anything.

I translate every word and still cant understand the whole meaning.

I`ll try to study everyday but hammering each word into my head with anki or something is not an option, its so boring and i feel like a robot. (and just didnt work at all)
