Today!

Today the average price of gas in my area of dwelling is $5.04 USD. I haven't seen these prices since the COVID era.

Over the Weekend...

Over the weekend, Spirit Airlines ceased operations after 34 years in service. We haven't had an airline "liquidate" since US Airways in 2015 when American Airlines absorbed US Airways, but so far as we know, Spirit has collapsed with no planned merger (multiple attempts, all rejected).

The last time this happened was back in 1991, Pan American World Airways, or "Pan Am" as some of the older folks may remember it. Pan Am also fell apart, due to the stresses from the 1973 oil crisis. In a crazy comeback of the century thus far, Pan Am is looking to partner with Amadeus Technology as they look to return to the US marketplace. Maybe they will take the place of Spirit?

Talking Points!

This poses the age old question of, why build a global economy on something so volatile? We all know why, but the push for renewable/sustainable energy never seems to gain the traction it needs.

I will always go for renewable energy, because in my eyes, that's just playing it smart and doing the right thing with the technology we have available to us. Why not use something that is, in essence, paying us back for using it day to day, without even thinking of it?
