A quiet corner of the internet where you can think, write, read and connect. Like how the internet was supposed to be.

New users seem to often be a bit confused about the no-AI. They think you're not even allowed to talk about it. I suppose my intention behind that line was that this platform is not flooded by bots that pretend to be human to steer sentiment and do psyops, like most other platforms suffer.

Maybe I should change that line to Bots to make it clearer? Perhaps a little paradoxical to both be a tech-savvy hacker-oriented place but at the same time take a luddite "Anti AI" stance in this rather polarised question?

My current take is: Love it or hate it, it's here, it's not going away, and it will likely have transformative effects, both positive and negative. From the impact on society of the outputs of neural nets themselves, to the controversial expansion of data center buildout, to changing how people work, learn and communicate. At the end of the day it's just a tool, which like an axe can and will be used for both malign and benevolent action.

Anyway, I'm less interested in having a heated debate between AI haters and AI lovers and more interested in whether I should replace the AI line with Bots in the about page.

Thoughts?
