[ESC]I love and hate worldbuilding, well, I love it, but it hates me. By now I've spent several weeks, if not months working on the firearms of my story, off and on, sometimes too frustrated to continue. Reworked the whole system several times when a new idea came about, only to delete it again for the most minute reason.
Now, this wouldn't be something I'd want to offload onto the reader all at once. BUT my need to geek out over it also means the theoretically, logistically and practically most sensible approach of "one gun fits all" just isn't possible.
STATE POLICE, CAPITAL CITY POLICE, ARMY, NAVY, GENDARMERIE and the SECRET POLICE.
Those six are just the main ones, theoretically there are dozens of organizations upon which one can descent their wrath of gun extravaganza.
Just like the tram driver has a saber at his side 'cause tradition, the conductor who's selling and checking tickets has a revolver on his belt 'cause he's carrying money.
Just too many options and I need to somehow fit it into the story in a satisfying manner and it ain't easy.
I'm constantly fighting the urge to lay it all out, well, at least one part of it, in the book, might write a post about it here just to get it off my chest.
