llm resource waste rant

i watched a coworker ask an llm to find the error from a directory full of text logs.

the llm just did grep -rn "error|Error|ERROR" ./ and found it. that single request to the llm was not free (though it did cost just a fraction of a cent).

how much money is wasted every day on bs like this? ppl asking llms to do trivial things.

the subsidies need to end, oh my god.

and now ppl are using the llm to turn bullet points into wordy emails, only so the person receiving it could put it back into bullet points using another llm.

this is all so silly.
