I'm about a quarter of the way through The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris, and I don't quite know how else to put it, this is honestly one of the most humorous books I've ever read! Don't get me wrong, the core story is lurid for sure. The jokes just hit and I find myself literally laughing out loud. And not just some enthusiastic push of air through my nose, we're talking actual chuckles!

I've never seen the film and this is my first time reading. I wasn't expecting the antagonist to be so...charismatic. They are for sure a very, very "bad guy," however I can't help but be somewhat captivated by them.

It very much is reminiscent of Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I don't have the words for it yet, but Clarice Starling and Lizbeth Salander seem to be very similar characters.

When I finish, I may share a list of my favorite annotations that I've made, highlighting some of the more entertaining moments ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows.
