[ESC]Hello world!
I guess this will serve as my formal introduction. I'm Beef, I'm 30-something years old, from the Paris of Appalachia. I'm a Linux enthusiast, lover of books, avid player of video games (mostly FPS/doomer shooters). I've recently acquired a 3D Printer and am struggling to learn how that all works. I've also decided to learn how to homelab using only a Raspberry Pi 5.
I've been using Linux regularly if not exclusively since 2007 after learning of it in high school. Currently running Arch on my desktop and laptop, and Raspberry Pi OS on the Pi. Niri+Noctalia shell.
I'm currently reading through three book series, Millennium, The Dresden Files, and Dungeon Crawler Carl. I've recently bought a Kobo Clara Color and have been averaging about a book every week and a half or so.
Video games have always been a hobby for me. I mostly stick to the shooters, currently playing Overwatch 2, and Forgive Me Father. I enjoy a good non-shooter every now and then, like Mew-Genics, Temtem, and Hotwheels Unleashed (for the kid in me).
The 3D Printer has been a nightmare. Not through any fault of its own, I'm just a simple guy who has probably bit off more than I can chew. The same applies to the Pi/homelabbing. For the Pi, I'm running Raspberry Pi OS, and I'm trying to use Docker to manage everything. If anyone knows of a good "For Dummies" book, I'll be forever grateful!
Lastly, I'm a level 6 berserker barbarian/echo knight fighter. What's worse than one murder hobo barbarian in your D&D party? That's right, two of them! Twice the pain, double the agony! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
Yeah, that covers the important stuff, I assume the rest will come out through (wizard)posts and replies as time goes on. I'm looking forward to hanging out here with all of you!
