A new project begins!

I recently came across an old acer laptop owned by my dear old and as soon as i did i could barely contain my excitement! It has been so long since a little project like this has come along and I am more than ready to get stuck in! 

Before I did anything I opened up the back to see if i was missing any components or there were any visible faults and i was pleasantly surprised to see all the Components including 2 sticks of 2gb ddr2, a 150gb disk drive and a Intel centrino 2, where not only intact but completely spotless! Not a speck of dust could be seen at all, looks like dad never so much as peaked under the hood of this beast and that probably saved me quite a bit of clean up.

I located the power cable the laptop required and it quickly booted up with no problems at all, I decided to wake the machine from hibernation into its original state ( although i intend to switch to a linux distro such as puppy linux or tiny core later on) and it booted in windows Vista after a small period of panicked disk noises. Nice!
