This evening I played an old flash game from my child hood. I played a lot of flash games back then, but this one was special for the fact that I was never actually able to 'properly' play it. My computer at the time wasn't powerful enough, so it lagged like crazy, making it effectively impossible to play. I only just now found it again via... was it a bookmark?

'Evil Forest' is a 2d roguelike, though I only now have the term roguelike to put on it. You go through a selection of randomly assembled levels with traps, enemies, equipment and items, and occasionally fight a boss. Some of the items completely break the game, such as one that gives you slow health regeneration, or one that sends you back to the very start with all of your collected upgrades. But at the same time, you'll probably need unreasonably powerful effects like those to beat the game, so it all balances out.

Overall, it's not crazy big or varied. I beat it on the second run, and have no desire to continue playing, having seen most of what it has to offer. It was just nice to see this again and finally play a game I remember missing out on.
