How long has Cyberspace been around? Was it always on cyberspace.online or did it exist before this domain?

I use linux as my main os and do cybersecurity but have one specific question and didnt wanna use AI or google for this but ask real humans. So my question is:

In the 70s what did most college and university students that used UNIX or at the time UNICS i think study like what was their major etc?
